As you read the Bible, you will find many places where it talks about the right way or the wrong way. Jesus Himself said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me.” There are many things that can distract young people today from taking the right path. How do we keep them from taking the wrong one?
Tuscumbia’s youth ministry program seeks to help parents and families as they work towards teaching their children how to follow the steps that Christ has laid before us. It exists to provide the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of those young men and women from the 7th through 12th grade. They are the future of our “Forever Family”. They will one day be leaders in the Lord’s Church and in their community. We seek to raise them up to be living “Stepping Stones” guiding the lost, and providing a safe path for others to follow, just as they follow Christ.
With the love and encouragement of their families, the dedication and devotion of their youth minister, and their own personal faiths in God, our youth are growing in the love and wisdom of God’s Word. We have over 60+ young men and women striving to follow the Pattern of Christ, so they can one day be the “Stepping Stones” for other to follow.
Below are just a few of the many activities and service projects available for our teenagers.
| Breakfast with the King |
Every 3rd Monday of each month the youth meet at Burger King before school for breakfast. This is a great time for fellowship with one another and a great way to kick off the beginning of a long week. |
| Monthly Devotionals |
The youth gather at a church member’s home for some good food and great fellowship! One of our young men of the youth group gives a short devotional message. |
| Wednesday All Youth Potluck |
Every third Wednesday evening at 6pm before Bible study. Our youth families bring food each month and fellowship with one another. |
| Youth Led Worship |
Every month with a fifth Sunday, that Sunday is an opportunity for the young men of the congregation to lead us in worship. |

Annual Fall
Camp Out
There is nothing more peaceful than sitting around a campfire. The month of November is dedicated for camping out on top of Hawk Pride Mountain at the Sherrod place. We roast marshmallows and hot dogs, play capture the flag, ride four wheelers, and hang out around the fire. |
| Annual Canoe Trip |
Every Summer we take a trip to Buffalo River. Here we enjoy the serenity of being outdoors among the Creator’s artwork. We also get to enjoy time with one another and sharing in a sack lunch during the canoe trip. There might also be an occasional canoe flip or two! |
| Songs of Summer |
Every Sunday night after service during the summer is dedicated to making a trip to the Christian Student Center on UNA’s campus. Here hundreds of young people gather together to sing praises to our Lord. |
| Winter Youth Series / Summer Youth Series |
This is an area-wide, year-long series of youth devotionals at various congregations. During the winter (Sept. – May) it is held on the third Sunday of each month and the summer (June – Aug.) is held every Tuesday. |
Appreciation Days |
This includes our Father's Day Breakfast, Mother's Day Brunch, and Valentine's Banquet. These are for the fathers, mothers, and senior adults, respectively. They are opportunities for our youth to show their appreciation for these individuals through acts of service.

These are ways for our youth to work together, actively showing our Savior’s love for all men.
