| There are many gifts God has given to each one of us. The elders lead the congregation, and the deacons serve the congregation through various ministries. There are still other roles to be filled. Ministers commit themselves to preaching the Good News to the congregation and to evangelizing those outside of the congregation. Our "Forever Family" has two ministers actively involved in encouraging and building up both our family and our community. |
Pulpit Minister
|
My name is Jeff Abrams. I have been privileged to serve as the pulpit minister for the Tuscumbia "Forever Family" since the Fall of 2006. My wife Judy and I met at Freed-Hardeman University and have been married since 1985. Judy is a kindergarten teacher who enjoys a life filled with serving others. We are blessed to be the parents of three wonderful "preacher's kids." Jordan, born in 1990, Joshua, born in 1992, and Jennah, born in 1998, fill our lives with lots of smiles.
I enjoy preaching and believe myself to have "the best job in the world." I also enjoy the opportunities God has given me to do mission work in Ukraine, since 1993. If you are looking for a church home, the Tuscumbia Church of Christ may be just the place for you. I know it has been a terrific place for my family to grow closer to God and each other. |

| Youth Minister & Campus Outreach
|
My name is Eli Harper. I was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. I grew up at the Wood Avenue Church of Christ where I was baptized at age thirteen by Kenneth Davis. I am a 1999 graduate of Brooks High School and later attended the University of North Alabama where I received a degree in Public Relations. I began working with Tuscumbia in March of 2005. Some of my hobbies include trying to play golf, hanging out with the youth, singing, and spending time with my wife.
I am happily married to one of Tuscumbia’s very own, the former Jordan Walker. We both met after I began my ministry here with the "Forever Family" where she has been a member since birth. We love the fact that we can call Tuscumbia home. Jordan is a 2004 graduate of Colbert Heights High School. She graduated from Wallace State in 2007 with an Associates of Applied Science. She is currently an LPTA at Helen Keller Hospital and a tremendous worker in the church. I try to bring to the youth ministry a strong desire to serve God. I also feel that I am solid in the Word and have a heart to serve others. I am very energetic and excited about serving the Lord and working with the amazing young people and families here at Tuscumbia. I fully believe that the young are not the church leaders of the future, but that they are the leaders of today. I also work as director for Patriots for Christ. In 2008, Tuscumbia began a religious organization on the campus of Northwest-Shoals Community College and it has been going strong ever since. I absolutely enjoy working with the students, faculty, and staff on campus. I, along with many others, take great pride in the work that takes place at NW-SCC. |
